The Akumi (pronounced Ack-Koo-My) is an egg pet available from the Hatchery page on Anatheria and was released on the 2nd of September, 2010.

Akumi resemble the classic Chinese oriental dragon style, capable of gliding through the skies. Although mostly herbivorous, Akumi will eat the occasional scrap of meat, if the mood strikes them.

The flashing avatar features the Lightning element and was created by CometCon.

Akumi have long been creatures purely of legend, worshipped and celebrated as bringers of peace, rain, and good fortune. They have been viewed as symbols of power, with many great kings wearing garments imitating their appearance. It is widely believed that it is the Akumi that wiped out the Lower Kingdom of The Barrens with horrendous flooding when their king turned cruel, leaving it in ruins. This sparked a great hatred for the Akumi amongst many Anatherians, and it is believed that this hatred drove them into hiding. Thousands of years have passed since then, and these majestic beasts have finally begun to emerge from hiding, but be warned; Akumi are hard to please. An age old tale tells of a man who tugged on the tail of an Akumi, and was cursed with a constant storm over his head for the rest of his life. However, when treated with respect, Akumi will be loyal companions.
